Qualification/Certification
Besides certification in their respective trades, all personnel are trained and tested specifically for the functions they will perform as part of their employment with PAE:
Offshore Survival Course
Safety and competency during a crisis is never taken for granted. All personnel attend the five-day combined Offshore Survival and Fire Fighting course, which includes practicing a Helicopter Underwater Escape. There is also a three-day refresher course for those who have already received basic training. Upon completion of training, each employee receives a certificate valid for a period of four years. The course is conducted by Sribima Maritime Training Centre.
Medical Examination
All personnel undergo medical examination approved by the Petroleum Activity on The Norwegian Continental Shelf, one of the highest standards in Europe.
Rigging & Slinging Course
All rigging personnel attend and complete the three day Rigging and Slinging Level I Competency Course. Selected supervisory personnel, namely the foreman and team leader, undergo the Rigging and Slinging Level II Competency Course.
First Aid Course
PAE ensures that all supervisory staff from each department (Foreman, Team Leader, Quartermaster, Cooks, Engine Room Mechanics) attend and complete the First Aid Course certified by The St. John's Ambulance Association.
Scaffolding and Crane Operator Competency Course
Where relevant, selected personnel will be assigned to attend the trade competency test conducted and certified by Port of Singapore Authority (PSA).
Work Performance Record (WPR)
The work performance of the individual crew onboard the vessel is monitored. PAE maintains a Work Performance Record and this is constantly updated.
Welder Qualification Record
Every welder holds a valid Welder Qualification Record accepted to API standard and certified by Lloyds. In accordance to that standard, being constantly employed as certified by WPR which PAE maintained, reduces the need to constant re-testing as well as improve the efficiency of the welders.
